Sign in and out | Ledger Enterprise

Overview

This document explains the recommended procedure for signing in and signing out of Ledger Enterprise systems. It covers credentials, multi-factor authentication, session handling, audit logging, and quick troubleshooting. Follow these steps to keep accounts secure, maintain accurate audit trails, and ensure compliant access control.

Step-by-step sign in

  1. Open the Ledger Enterprise portal and verify the HTTPS lock icon in the address bar.
  2. Enter your corporate email (username) and your strong password. Passwords must meet complexity rules.
  3. Complete MFA — use the authenticator app or hardware token. Biometrics (if enabled) are accepted for supported devices.
  4. Confirm device trust only on personal devices; corporate-managed machines should remain untrusted for auditing.
  5. Check the security banner shown after login for any alerts or forced rekey actions.

Tip: Use single sign-on (SSO) if your organization enables it — it simplifies access while preserving SAML/OAuth auditing.

Signing out and session hygiene

Proper sign-out prevents orphaned sessions and reduces insider-risk. Always close the session with the platform's "Sign out" button, then close the browser tab. On shared machines, clear browsing data and revoke active sessions from your account dashboard.

Immediate actions after sensitive activity: sign out, lock the workstation, and confirm the audit entry shows a successful logout timestamp.

Audit, logging & compliance

Ledger Enterprise records every sign-in and sign-out with user identity, device fingerprint, IP, timestamp, and session ID. Security teams should monitor failed sign-ins, unusual IPs, and abnormal session durations. Exportable logs support compliance reporting.

Troubleshooting & common errors

  • Incorrect password — use the "Forgot password" flow; do not share credentials via email.
  • MFA failure — verify device time sync, or use backup codes stored in a secure password manager.
  • Stuck session — use account settings to terminate active sessions, then re-login.
  • Blocked access — contact your helpdesk with your username and the exact timestamp for faster resolution.

Best practices

Use unique passwords, enable hardware MFA where possible, review active sessions weekly, and rotate service account credentials according to policy. Encourage employees to use company-approved password managers and never reuse credentials between systems.
